The success of CPE depends on active participation by the information security community. The CPE naming scheme is intended to address a wide range of needs, so it is imperative that every voice in the community is heard. As with most standards, it is impossible for the moderators to understand every possible implementation and every possible use case. The CPE moderator must leverage individual expertise in order to make educated recommendations about future technical directions for the standard. Everyone is encouraged to get involved and help shape this important initiative.
